I have followed the tutorial for reversi. I built the skeleton and started the server and two clients. When I create a table, I get the message in the console on the server and both clients that the table was added. When I attempt to join the table with the other client, no messages are sent to the console. If I attempt to join again, it says table action failed because table position is occupied. Anybody have any ideas what this is about. I was really excited about this whole framework. I hope there is enough of a community to help me out. Thanks in advance. --Joshua |

Hmmm, that's really weird for that to happen with the skeleton game. Usually when that happens, your server code is throwing an exception on startup. If you say there's no output on the server window, my guess would be it's stuck in an infinite loop or something. Does this happen with the Step 1 skeleton project, or further along in the tutorial after you change the source? |

Can you run the full version of the Reversi game? I believe it's at the jreversi directory. It should have been included when you downloaded the game gardens toolkit. See c:\games\jreversi. It's basically the tutorial with all the text already typed out. I used it as reference whenever I get stumped on the tutorial. Of course, since you're still at Step 1, I'm not sure it'll help. If you want more help from the forums, you probably need to provide the output of both the server and client app. |
