I play PP through the YourFreedom client while I'm at school, as I cannot connect without a tunnel. I simply edit the deployment.properties file in config.jar to change the server connections to localhost, but I cannot figure out how to do this with Game Gardens. I've already attempted some decompiling of gg-client.jar, but it's proving rather difficult and messy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Er, for some reason it says I don't have enough permissions to edit. Anyway, I've already tried editing the end of game_43.jnlp to no avail. |

Unfortunately I think Java Web Start redownloads the jnlp file every time you run the game. You can try just running things by hand on the command line. It's a little tricky, but just download: http://garden1.gamegardens.com/client/gg-client.jar and then run: java -classpath gg-client.jar -Dgame_id=43 -Dresource_url=http://garden1.gamegardens.com/games/ com.threerings.toybox.client.ToyBoxApp localhost 4008 The game_id is the number of the game you want to run (you can see it in the URL when you're looking at any game's info page). You'll need to make sure to redownload gg-client.jar from time to time because if we update Game Gardens you won't automatically get the newer version because you're not using Java Web Start. |
